What are the psychological implications of a person who tattooed LOSER in asian letters on arm? He's Hispanic?

My best friend divorced her second husband because he cheated and had a horrible temper. Because this was his second divorce as well he got a tattoo on his arm in chinese letters that says loser. Why would anyone tatoo something so demeaning on their body?

When a person has a bad temper it could mean they have a chemical imbalance and needs to see a psychiatrist.  It could also mean that they have very low self esteem and self confidence and lash out at other people.  Some people get grandiose feelings of hurting others due to their self loathing.  Some people cheat to try and fill a void that will never be filled no matter how many conquests they have.  His tattoo is very troubling.  I'm not a psychiatrist by any means, but think that is a big step showing self hate.  I'm afraid he is going to hurt someone or himself down the road or end up in jail.  He needs serious help.
