In speaking, singing, or writing?  Those are all different things.  I read your question and since I'm a writing teacher, I assumed you mean in writing.  You need to explain more in your question.

For teaching, having emphasis, clarity and conciseness when you are talking will definitely get your message across to students.

Most students do not want repitition. You can say something that is extra important twice, but no more after that.

Definitely avoid saying "um.." or "uh..." students start counting if it becomes a habit.

Put emphasis on certain words that might be particularly important so the voice does not sound monotone

Voice must be loud and clear without shouting. You must be relaxed and breath constantly. Just talk slowly.
