Question:

What are the queues like at the ticket offices at Ascot this week?

One of my work people has lost his ticket and has to pick up a replacement when he arrives on the day. Does anyone know how long he might have to wait? He would really like to do this .. er.. nonchalantly - if possible - not to look a plonker in front of his clients...

Are the ticket offices heaving with 100+ or so bods from early morn to late at night?

Thanks! Any other Ascot tips much appreciated!

  1. The problem is actually getting into the racecourse and parking, last year on Gold Cup Day (Ladies Day) it took us an hour to travel 3 miles and we only just arrived in time for the first race.

The thing is you can't just arrive and walk into the ticket office.  You are mostly sent into assigned parking areas and some are a fair walk from the main entrance.  We had to walk through a tunnel under the racecourse to get to the General Admissions entrance and it took us 20 minutes from the car, so I don't think he will be able to collect his ticket discreetly.

Even with our tickets there was a long queue to get in.

If its not the Thursday it won't be so busy, but even so I would aim to be on course by 12.00 mid day at the latest...Racing usually starts at 2.30pm so an early start is a must depending on how far he has to travel.

Sadly my only tip for Royal Ascot is stay at home and watch it on the tele, and I love going to the races but it's just too busy for me, you don't get to see enough of the horses.

Hope he has a great day and it all works out for him.

    Good Luck xx
