Well IPL is a full form entertainment package for "many".

for the owners nd sponsers its a grt business nd for common man a relaxation time where he can choose his team nd hv fun supportin it.

Especially in India at this time all students hv hols nd they used to mostly keep the matches in the eve,so no office too,then whu wud not go((especially in a country like India where the Indians go crazy,literally crazy abt cricket)!!!

i think the biggest reason is the format ,it is so diverse tht it has brought togeda a variety of ppl may it be ricky pontin nd saurav ganguly togeda or .........Dhoni vs his bst buddy yuvraj!!

so its not necessary tht only indians wud watch ,they were sure tht all wud like to c such combinations play togeda.

IN SHORT i too had fun watchin it....i wish i cud be in India nd c it too!!!!

Probably the Hit and Giggle aspect of it!!!

And also some of the best players going around.....although kinda got boring when most of the Australians left....How good is Shaun Marsh....and what a waste of F*ckin money MS Dhoni was hey?...Overrated!!!??

Cricket is a very popular game in India anyways, but IPL is a three hour game, like a movie, and there were many celebrities involved in the game and some controversies like the cheerleader and Ness wadia etc. The shorter version of the game is more explosive and hence entertaining.

Well for spectators it would definitey be the thrill of seeing players that you never thought you would see playing together, almost like a dream team kind of thing..

For the players obviously money, and I don't blame them.

In crcket your career is going to come to an end at some point, so why not make more money while doing what you do best, plus you will need it after retirement.

It must also give them some excitement, laughs and it;s also a chance to get practice in that format of the game..
