  1. Poverty & poor awareness are the main reasons for  child labour.

  2. it started with our feudalistic society and is being continued even now. father a servant and the feudal lord wanted his son as well to be a servant. this is one of the reasons i am aware of.

to overcome this tragedy is very difficult in india. efforts are on but still not much success. only a goo education will be able to to something to improve the status of these children.

  3. That's true. But the major reason is that children are not "intelligent" enough to know they are being exploited. (well the young ones at least). And they work for that because that's all they are told to, either by parents or peer pressure etc. The main culprit is transnational corporations subcontracting or opening facilities in third world countries so they can get away with cheep labour, saving incredible amounts of money. My theory is, if you can't do it England (Or Australia or the US), don't do it at all. Its just not right.

  4. the reason for child labor is because they dont have to be paid much, therefor the things we buy from places that have child labor are less expensive.

  5. **PARENTAL  ILLITERACY:  Illiterate parents do not  realize the need for a proper physical ,emotional and cognitive development of a  child. As they are uneducated, they do not realize the importance of education for their children.

**      OVERPOPULATION :  Most of the Asian and African countries are overpopulated . Due to limited resources and more mouths to feed , Children are employed in various forms of work.

**POVERTY: many a time poverty forces parents to send their children to hazardous jobs. Although they know it is wrong, they have no other alternative as they need the money

**URBANISATION : The Industrial Revolution has its own negative side. Many a time MNC s and export industries in the developing world employ wild workers, particularly in the  garment industry.

**UNEMPLOYMENT OF ELDERS : Elders often find it difficult to get jobs. The industrialists and factory owners find it profitable to employ children. This is so because they can pay less and extract more work. They will also not create union problem.

**ORPHANS: Children born out of wedlock, children with no parents and relatives, often do not find anyone to support them. Thus they are forced to work for their own living

    ****solutions

***Reduction of chronic poverty through broad-based economic and social development

***Rehabilitation by providing them with the essential services they may need like shelter, food, health care

***Affording viable alternatives such as extra

tuition, apprenticeship, pre-vocational training, sheltered workshop

    Human resource development

      Intense media attention and ultimately

        successful public campaigns

      Withdrawing children from particularly

         harmful work situations

Appropriate training to the staff of ministries

       and municipalities, labour inspectors, trade

       unionists, representatives of employers'

organizations and staff of the NGOs that

       are directly involved.

    Boycotts of specific goods

National policy  to address the underlying causes, to discourage demand and to limit

       the supply of child labour

Create the environment for fundamental change in cultural attitudes towards children

Appropriate training to the staff of ministries and municipalities, labour inspectors, trade unionists, representatives of employers' organizations and staff of the NGOs that are directly involved

  6. Main rason for child labour is POVERTY. Other causes can be illiteracy, foolis beliefs, etc.

This evil can be overcome by education and strict rules. Banning of child labour may produce more emplyment opportunities for adults but it's not same in all sectors.

  7. I guess it would. Of course, you're presuming the now unemployed children would go off to school so they can be educated.
