to make your class instruction more interesting and effective. remember, there are dull teachers, dull class, but never dull subjects!

Instructional materials are used as practical examples to make it easy to understand. At a lot of times, pure text and speech might not be enough to explain complex matter. Hence, something like an 'instructional material' would be good. The most easy example I can think of is models of chemical compounds, which make it easy to visualise the connections between atoms. No other way can make the understanding pictorial :)
