What are the reasons that my parents didn't want me to get circumcised when i was a baby?

You didnt say where you were born or where you grew up. If you were born in the United states and you werent circumcised, that is unusual.  If you were in europe its not.  If you are American and they didnt have you done, they had their reasons.  You should ask them.  Obviously, the choice is now yours.

probably because its a weird and barbaric thing to do to a healthy baby boy .

Its not medically nessicary so they probably figured whats the point? Also, your father may not be, parents tend to do what the father has.

There are times when things can go wrong and maybe they were worried about. i've seen programs on tv about it and there can be nerve damage and less feeling. also some men get upset about it later on in life. although it can be the other way around as well. if i have a son i wouldn't want to get him circumcised. however, my husband would disagree.

You'd have to ask them to get an accurate answer because that's the only way of really knowing why they didn't. However, circumcision is a medically unnecessary, cosmetic surgery so that could very well be why they decided not to have it done. Unnecessary surgery is not something to be taken lightly or done routinely.

Because you were left whole, you have more nerve endings on your p***s than a circumcised guy does and your glans has protection from rubbing against your underwear.  You also have a nice moving bit for the ladies (or men, if you swing that way) to play with :-)

If you ever have issues with your f******n, doctors might try to tell you that you automatically need a circumcision, but there are other, less invasive options for almost every single problem there can be with a f******n. So enjoy it - you're lucky to have it!

I think it is cruel it does hurt, some say it dont but ok why do the baby scream.

I don't know...Only they know that. I am guessing it may have to do with culture. It is actually good to be circumcised. It is a lot cleaner and recent studies show it helps reduce the risk of spread of std's and HIV. Ask your parents. They know best.

Because they love you and they knew you were perfect exactly the way you were born.  Nothing was wrong with you, so they didn't see any reason to "fix" you.  And they had enough respect for you to leave the decision up to you when you were older.

They were ahead of their time, and you should consider yourself very luck to have been spared that painful, barbaric procedure.  I wish more parents were like them!

because it causes undo pain. back in the day they thought it was good to keep it clean. Now we just teach to use soap and clean it properly!

umm, chance of infection, maybe they were afraid of the pain it would cause you, and maybe they dint have the monwey for it. it does cost like 200 bucks to do..

Some people just don't like the idea of their child being in needless pain.  There are conflicting reports on whether the f******n is good or bad.  People now circumcise more for appearance.  Doing it at birth may look like it hurts and it does but the pain is forgotten pretty quickly.  It also is a time when the adult can look after the wound and take care of it.  There are fewer irritants during this time.  Also healing is much faster.  But again, some parents think it's cruel and unusual punishment to do this to a baby.
