What are the reasons that people are protesting the China Olympics?

Just need some feed back on the Olympic protest in China and around the world.... Do you believe that president Bush should take a stand on this issue? And what should it be? And in what ways does this issue relate to our personal lives, now or in the future?

I, firstly, wish to say the Olympics should not be considered from a political viewpoint.  Olympics are held to give honour to the dedication and talents of those who participate - this is by the people and for the people of countries/nations who are not appointed representatives based upon their political or personal views of other countries/nations.

It isn't, only, the Tibet-issue people are protesting;  China has, for centuries, violated the civil rights of their population with, for example, their decree of a one-child limit for married couples.  Millions of Chinese women who gave birth to a daughter instead of a son, had to allow their newborn girl to be killed since a son is more desirable in a country with farmers comprising 44-45% of the population.

Although China "says" they allow freedom of religion, they keep records of people who attend religious services and, on a regular basis, bring them in for interrogation.

Let's leave the Olympics to the olympians and politics to the governments.

By the way, if we did boycott and the Chinese government "called in" 25% of the value of the Bonds our government has issued to them, during the past 20 years, our economy would collapse (this is why China has favoured trading nation status with us).

The Iraq mess is related to the China mess. What is worse, the CIA is responsible, in the way that Gollum the speed freak, cartoon-Carville-looking, Mid Earth wretch is responsible for the tension, in the Lord of the Rings saga. So the movies used an actor for Frodo, which has eyes, like Hillary's. When he puts on that middle class symbol, the funky, elvish wedding band, he DISAPPEARS, boy hobbit howdy. The Mid East and Marin are similarly evoked, throughout the saga, as if guys I went to college with had too much to do with Democrats from Arkansas and impregnated.

All kinds of fights in, sorry about your return flights, you can stay in SF if you don't fight. But a fight is always going on, where Newsom needs money and the CIA provides! If you don't want legal pot then you will eventually fall to Chinese economies of scale, expensive enmity, or not! But most Americans are SO stupid, they will maintain costly enmities, after expensive enmities have passed.

So China will have another reply. And another. But when China is provoked, China may not speak, just TAKE. This is the fault of Americans, alive and dead, but many who should be dead, who are alive. They don't intend to bring the world economy in for a smooth landing, do Bush and his perverts.

You need not demonstrate, here. The pimps for this want MO MONEY, MOE MONEY, and HO MONEY, and FUNNY MONEY, and mo MONEY! Get it? The hotels and airlines and cops and maybe the ducks all got fed! THAT is the exit strategy from cities and counties and states and international conflicts! THE MONEY WILL DRY UP, and China will balk at funding anything that fighting American Idiots want.

The protests take the place of legit tourism.  The controversy enables obstruction of justice and evasion of review by all kinds of freaks, like SF Mayor Gavin Newsom and President GW Bush, BOTH.

Mistreatment of people of Tibet is why they are protesting.

The Olympics are not the place for politics!  We boycotted one Olympic meet & it didn't change anything except to cheat our athlete's out of going & perhaps winning some metals for all of the hard work they had spent years working towards.

A small minority in Tibet desided to riot, burning and ransacking tibetan schools, housings, and bussiness.  Things that pretty much symbolized the improvements created in tibet.  The crackdown on the rioters lead to some death under the rioters and police.  Tibetans, business owners, and turist were targeted.  Instead of the government rioters targeted civilians.  

The deaths that incurred promtted the free tibet crowd to protest against china and looked towards the olympic games.  It takes thousands and millions of lives to be guilty of genocide.  If china is commiting genocide in tibet, then why build schools to educate the tibetan peasants, why not demolish everything that exist in tibet rather than develop the region of tibet.  They could've gassed everybody 30 years ago.  Why are tibetans ruling autonomously under china.  Every country in the world has laws and restrictions to suppress unrully behavior.  Some are worst and some are better than China's.  

The tribes of china see's tibetans as one among the chinese tribes.  Every family, tribe, or nation in the world will harm their own if they miss behave, a spanking, caning, and clubbing, and teargas.  Even in the U.S., unrully protestors, rioters get hurt.  Police are authorize to use excesive force to keep themselves from harm, it's also the same among families, and individuals trying to keep the peace.

China's system of government is different from the U.S., but does it make them any different in everything.  Unlike the Indegenous people of the Americas, China is not ruled by natives that originated from a distant land and their philosophy.  China is independent and is competing to regain their wealth and world status as they once had before Indian opium started pouring into china.  

There are ugly things happening in china, is it just in china.  Is everything in the U.S. good.  What about the rest of the world.  Whose to say that execution of criminals who raped, murdered, smuggled drugs, swindeled (white collar, blue collar), robbed, and corrupt (politicians) has human rights.  Didn't they violate the trust, civil rights, and human rights of others.  Imprisonment is discipline, execution is punishment

Many people in the West want to criticize the Chinese because of their aggression in Tibet, and while the Olympics is not the ideal target for this aggression, it is the only area that is currently accessible and therefore is attacked.
