I've been a vegetarian for a week and plan on going on for a long time. I was asked why won't I eat meat the other day and its sorta because of this girl but I don't want to tell everyone that. So what are other reasons?

  1. I have been a vegetarian since ive been eight and its very rewarding. I never liked the idea of eating anything that was once been living for a few reasons. the first was because i felt bad that the animal would have to be killed for me to eat it. i couldnt imagine killing my friend or someone i cared about just to have something to eat - especially since there are many other foods that you can eat. The other reason is because i always found it kind of nasty. i mean eating something that was once walking around? thats grosssss.

I think that being a vegetarian is very good because it makes you different from everyone else. but i always run into the problem at eating at friends houses. like if i eat at a friends house i feel bad because the family always has to prepare something special for me. but its deffinently something that should make you feel accomplished and make you feel unique.

  2. I guess people do it for a lot of reasons. Doing anything for some other person has never worked for me, good luck!

I don't eat meat because I love animals (all animals). If it has a face, I don't eat it. I don't use their skins so no leather for me.

It just seem right for me.

  3. umm just say bcaz u dont like meat no more

  4. you're giving up a natural source of iron and protien. i'd rather give up veggies and take a vitamin supplement. veggies are mostly fiber and water, and a few vitamins...

i'd be happy on a diet of burgers, fries and steaks. i'm almost 48 years old, live on burgers fries and steaks mostly, and i'm 5'8" and 120 pounds (i also drink 10-13 beers a day).

i can't imagine going vegan or total veggie.

  5. vegetarians have stronger immune systems, since the FDA will approve cows for slaughter with illnesses, cancerous legions, and so much more. more than half of the clean water in the United States goes to animal agriculture. farms produce more than 100 times the excretion (waste) than humans do, which dangerously damages the environment. did you know that meat industries actually produce more environmental toxins than all other industries COMBINED! for every pound of food that they eat, only a fraction of the calories are returned in the form of edible flesh. this basically means that the animals have to be fed a lot before they can provide ample food for humans; this certainly is NOT helping third world countries to end world hunger. slaughter houses also dont support worker rights, which is a shame because it has been determined to be one of the most dangerous jobs in America. and finally, the most important reason is that animals are God's creatures with feelings too, and they are perfectly capable and thinking and living. the terrible pain that they suffer while being skinned alive, tasers, dragged by hooves and snouts, being beaten by bats and bricks, and so much more is disgusting enough. i'm a new vegetarian and my body has never felt better :]]
