  1. You need an International Driving Permit, your drivers license, passport and credit card.

You can get a International Driving Permit from the AAA or the AATA

  2. Passport, credit card and FULL drivers license.

Oh and also you have to be 17 to drive here.... not 16 as in most/all of your states.

  3. It's pretty much the same as renting a car here except that rental car companies don't typically accept insurance that is provided by credit card companies. You'll probably have to take the collision damage waiver, which is usually very expensive. Make sure that you budget for it.

You'll need a drivers license and a major credit card.

Just in case you're not aware, the Irish drive on the left and the steering wheel is on the right side of the car. You can learn how to drive like that (I did), but you'll have to concentrate a lot in the beginning. Gasoline is much more expensive there. And, manual transmissions are the norm. Make sure that you specify an automatic if you won't drive a stick. Automatics are more expensive, so be sure to budget for that, too.

P.S. You don't need an international drivers permit, contrary to what one person answered. I've rented cars in Ireland many times and have never had one. A standard American drivers license is accepted.

For more information on requirements, just check the website of the rental company that you're using.

  4. passport, credit card and full drivers license, as long as you have passed the test

  5. full driving licence and ID (passport), also credit card for security on the car
