What are the requirements for Pre K?

What does a Pre K screenng consist of?

PreK screenings check for a wide variety of background and academic knowledge as well as social development.  If you are allowed to go with your child to the assessments, be careful not to help too much with the actual answer.  They may not be really looking for the actual answer, but how you child responds to the questioner and/or solves the problem.

If you've been reading to your child and he knows the basics (animals, colors, shapes, etc.) he or she should be good.

If the Pre K is licensed by the state you live in than most of the time the school will require a immunization and physical form, birth certf. and an application. Many quality programs like for guardians and the child or children to visit the school and meet the staff of the school. I would think that if a school requires a screening it would be on a school by school basis.

Hi I'm a pre-k4 teacher! And there isnt a requirement for pre-k lol. Unless your trying to put your child in some kind of big academy lol. But if  your child is 4 then thats the requirement! Your child shouldnt be held back cause they need to know certain things. Thats why they r starting pre-k4 to learn lol. Hope this helps u!
