What are the requirements for being homeschooled?

I am going to be a senior in high school this year, in Illinois. I am fairly smart, going to collage, good student. Can I just take online classes, do I have to have a parent present? What do I have to do? Also any tips on convincing my parents to let me do this, mostly my dad!!
