  1. If you are crossing the US border to come into Canada or entering Canada by air, the main thing you need is proof of rabies vaccination.  You need the certificate, not just the tags, and the certificate should indicate the type of rabies vaccine used - how long the vaccination will be good.  You should also have a letter from your vet basically describing your dog and stating that it is in good  health.

If you mean travelling/driving within Canada, you won't need anything.  There was a time when you needed to show a rabies vaccination certificate to bring a dog onto the island of Newfoundland because there was no rabies on the island part of the province, but that regulation is no longer in effect.  If you are flying with your dog, you need to check each individual airline as they each have different regulations.  For example, with Air Canada there are many flights where you cannot travel with a dog at all.

  2. theres no  problem doing that, just bring their vaccine certifications with you as they might ask to see at border.  (especially rabies)

  4. If you are leaving a country to came to Canada, have documentation for the dogs (proof you bought them, vacination forms, etc.). If you are going province to province, it should not matter.

  5. we have crossed the border with our dog so many times and they only asked for papers one or twice.

the border never bothers with stuff like that, but bring papers cause they may ask, but the chances are slim.
