What are the requirements for getting your private pilot license in state of MS?

I'm thinking about getting my pilots license and i don't know much about it. what would be the cost for the training? also i would want to know the legal age for getting them? 16? is that right?

  1. Airman Certificates (commonly called "pilots' licenses") are issued by the Federal Government, rather than by states, so the requirements are the same in any state.

    You must be 16 to become a student pilot, and 17 to secure the Private Airman Certificate.  It will cost you between $5,000 and $7,000.

    To learn the details of the process, go to the nearest airport that has a flight school, and ask to talk to a flight instructor.  They will give you accurate and useful information, which is not always guaranteed here.
