What are the requirements for taking the PRAXIS series?

Like, do you have to be a graduate of an education course, and/or have teaching experience, etc...

  1. it depends which praxis you're taking. neither require you having graduated and/or teaching experience.... but experience with children/in a classroom is helpful on praxis II because you can add your experiences to your constructed responses

    praxis I you can take anytime, it's equivalent to the SAT or ACt

    praxis II.... i am in the middle of mine right now. i have 6 to take before i am licensed and i've finished 3. we can take them whenever we want but our professors give us a ballpark of when is best (aka after what classes, etc) so it really just depends on what courses you need.

  2. Uusally must have completed your sophomore course of study with satisfactory grades. This includes specific ed courses. Your institution may have other pre-application requirements. Should be posted on their website, or contact your counselor/advisor.
