First, before the US embassy will process your visa you must pass the CGFNS exam (Commission Governing Foreign Nursing Schools).  You also need to pass the TOEFL exam (Test of English as a Foreign Language).  To work as a registered nurse in California you'll need to pass the NCLEX-RN exam (National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse).
