  1. The first thing your mom needs to do is write a letter of intent to home school you.  She just tells the superintendent of your school that she is going to home school you, that you will be using the same school calender they are using, and list the classes she will be teaching you.

If she wants to make sure your credits are transferable she will need to work with the school.  Then she can get your curriculum ordered, or go to Barns and Noble and start there.  If you have a local Home School Association contact them for all the state requirements.  Then contact the HSLDA and they will fill you in on all the rest.

You do not have to go back to school, and remember part of home schooling is that learning is all around you.  If you can pick up a book and start reading it you are learning, and it can be credited to you.  Don't panic!  It is all good, and it will all work out.

  2. That depends - what state do you live in?  Each state has its own set of laws and regulations.  In some states, your parents just advise the school that they're pulling you out, and you go for it; in others, you need to notify them in advance.  The longest you would have to wait is 14 days (Arkansas, possibly 1 or 2 others).

If you can let us know which state you live in, we can give you specific instructions.

  3. Go to HSDLAs website and check on the laws in your state. They vary. Good luck!

  4. If your unsure about traditional homeschool try a virtual charter school or academy....

www.k12.com  .....look for your state to see if they offer it....if they do then it will be free and they provide the materials....including a computer.

This is the curriculum we use...but we are not homeschoolers...we are cyberschoolers....there is a difference.

****Homeschooling familes have fought very hard and sucessfully to be independent and without all their hard work we would not even have had a chance to exists as an educational option.

  5. Depends on your state.

For example, in some states you have to apply and be approved, explaining your curriculum and such. In others, you don't even have to tell the school, you can pull your child out the day you decide to do it.

Your best bet is to look at HSLDA and see what the laws are for your state.

  6. It all depends on your school. All i did was meet with the school and fill out the forms. I started homeschooling my daughter the same week. Ive been doing it for over 7 years now. let me know if you have any questions. Good luck.

  7. The first place to start is the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA); they have information on how to legally homeschool in each state, along with other information on how to get started in homeschooling.  The link is below:

    http://www.hslda.org/Default.asp?bhcp=1

Some states require that you file a letter of intent with the school board.  In other states, you simply submit a withdrawal letter to the school--usually via certified mail, letting them know you are withdrawing the student and will be homeschooling them according to state laws.  Subsequently, another letter is sent to the school requesting the student's records.

As stated previously, the procedure varies from state to state.  However, it is not a long process.

  8. check with ur school some states require that u finish the school yr ,while others don't.

    2) math

    3)good citizenship

....that can be satan, jesus, jehovah, buda, abraham lincoln, daddy, mommy,or any person u select to study as good citizenship.

A)some state require sports,or electives, check that link that some posted to see what other requirements ur state has.

only takes about 3-5hrs a day doing homeschooling.
