  1. Breathe and have a pulse...

  2. It is different in different states, but in most states the jury pool is composed of registered voters.  If that's the case, anyone who is registered to vote can be selected to be in a jury pool.  Then the attorneys in a given law suit can choose to exclude certain people.  Anyone who is left is eligible to be on the jury.

  3. Some jurisdictions get their lists from voting rolls, but since people stopped registering to vote to avoid jury duty, many are now using drivers license rolls as well.

You can't be a felon or under accusation, you must be able to read and write and not be mentally deficient, over 18, a resident of the area the jury draws from, a citizen, or have served over 5 days on jury in last 3 months.

You may be excused if you request if you are: over 70, high school or college student, caretaker of an invalid, have a health problem preventing sitting in courtroom, have recently served on jury.

  4. 1. you have to be 18

    2. you have to be a legal resident of the united states, the state that has called you, you must live in the county if it is county court

    3. you must speak english

    4. be competent

    5. look impreshinable

    6. be able to make a fare judgement

    7. have a drivers license, state id, or voter registeration

  5. I think you have to be over 18.

  6. It all depends on the case and if you are chosen.  You need to be a registered voter.

  7. It varies somewhat, but overall:

You must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.

You must not have been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for more than one year.

You must be physically and mentally able to perform the functions of a juror.

You must be a United States citizen at the time you are summoned.

You must be a resident of the state in question and at least 18 years of age.

But they'll never find you if you don't register to vote. There are several (mostly legit) ways to get out of jury duty if called up. But who'd want to miss the fun??

  8. Jurors are invited who are registered voters.  Names are picked at random.  The only requirement is that you show up when contacted.

  9. Belong to the KKK.
