  1. yes

  2. It really depends on the state that you live in.  Here, in Texas, you don't have to go through college to become a police officer.  You can, however, become a correctional officer and work as one for 36 months (this is without college) and then retire and apply for a police officer possition.

  3. You are at least required to finish high school and often times be 19 years of age or older.  as well as basically have a clean criminal record.  The state or county put you through physical and mental training yada yada yada ... u become a cop.  look on your local law enforcement's websites to also get more of an idea of the requirements

  4. Fitness

    Education

Extras : First Aid Course, Defensive Driving Course, Gun Safety Course, Martial Arts is also good.

  5. Requirements vary by state and by department. You must be at least 18 years old. Most departments require or prefer you to be at least 21 years old. You should get the best grades you can, stay out of trouble, maintain a good reputation, and be physically fit. If you have or get a job, make certain that you are seen as an excellent employee. Do not get too far in debt. If you have credit, make sure that it is good. Keep a good driving record. Attend college. The more college you have, the better. Some police departments require only a high school diploma or GED, some require 30 college credits or a two year degree, and some require 60 credits or a four year degree. Some departments will waive some or all of the college requirement for those with qualifying military experience. Police departments across the country are looking for intelligent, well-rounded individuals with good common sense and decision making skills to join their ranks. Visit the websites of the police departments that you are interested in. Often times the sites will have detailed information about qualifications, etc. Check out http://www.peaceofficerjobs.com for excellent information and advice about becoming a police officer.
