What are the requirements to get married in the Bahamas? What islands do you suggest?

We are getting married on New Providence Island in April 2009. The ceremony will be on Deleport Beach then having our reception at p**p Deck Sandyport. It is right on the water and the food is great.

All of our guest are staying at the Sheraton (4 star) and the Wyndham (3 star) Both resorts are connected by the Crystal Palace Casino and share amenities. They are on Cable Beach one of the most gorgeous stretches of beaches on the island.

If you wanted to do your wedding on an out island, I would recommend Elbow Cay in Abaco. It is a little island where everyone gets around by golf carts and boats. One of my friends got married here: http://www.calypsobahamas.com/ It's a huge 6 bedroom house on the water. Made for a great wedding.

same as america and abaco ,bahamas is like THE BEST place to get married and to have a honeymoon ...i have been to 2 weddings their and i loved it

and i recodmend green turtle cay as the location to get married

You and your fiancee must be in the bahamas for at least 24 hours before heading to the registrars office to register.

Your application can be completed in one day.

As for a place to stay.. it would depend on what you are looking for and your budget.  Ocean Club on Paradise Island or Sandals at cable Beach would be my pick if I stay in the tourist areas..

Kamalame Cay (Andros) or Coral Sands on Harbour Island would be my out island choices
