  1. Depends on the state you are in. I would go to the nearest DMV office and make sure I can drive or ride before I do so.

    Good luck...

  2. You can use your UK driver's license in the US while you are visiting due to International treaties.

You might want to get an international driver's permit in your country before you visit. It is not required, but it does help "grease the wheels".

Many states have financial responsibility laws. Don't know how these would affect you.

  3. you need to take the written test for a motorcycle permit(which allowt you to ride on the roads during the day without a  passenger which means no highways).

Then either take the motorcycle safety foundation course or take the skills test at the dmv.  For the skills test you will need your own bike.  the msf course costs more money but you don't need your own bike, once you're done with the course they'll present you with  a certificate and you can take that straight to the dmv and recieve your license. I'm gonna do that step on monday.

this is the website for the msf course.

  4. If you have a UK motorcycle license, you will be able to ride a motorcycle in the US.

    No motorcycle endorsement, no bike.

  5. In the USA, motorcycle endorsements are added to your drivers license. So an American license would most likely be needed as would residency.

  6. Don't forget you Brit's drive on the wrong side of the road.
