I am a FL college student, in my last year before receiving my BA in Elementary Education. I came to FL thinking that I would love it, and over the past 4 years, I've learned that I miss the northeast. My plan is to move back to NY after graduation and teach there. I know that the certificates are not 100% transferable. Does anybody know what exams or classes or steps I would need to take in order to transfer my FL teaching certificate to a NY one? Also, is there a situation where I could get hired with a FL certificate but have a certain amount of time to obtain my NY certificate? I've also heard that NY State has a law to get all teachers to at leats have a Master's and they h ave 5 years to obtain their Master's after being hired with a Bachelor's. Is this correct?
