  1. http://saudiembassy.net/Travel/VisaIntro... - outlines the basic visa types and the requirements.  If you have family in Saudi, you can get the Family visit visa.  If you're muslim, then you can do umrah and stay in Jeddah.

  2. Though many fellow Yahoo's answered your queston, none of them mentiond that the country is now slowly opening the borders in a controlled manner to welcome tourists into the Kingdom. Most of the answers here are mostly right, but it is beginning to ease.

It helps to be Muslim though. Jeddah is wonderful. Good luck with spending your vacation there.

  3. SaudiArabia is NOT open for general tourism..

You first have to have a specific invite from someone here. like a relative, or employer, or a diplimatic invite..

2nd.. If you are a muslim.. then you can come with intention of making hajj pilgramage to Mecca or minor pilgramiage which is Umra.. and stay an additional couple weeks to tour Jeddah

3rd.. If you are of another faith other than islam.. you can get in with a work visa if you are hired by some company here..

    otherwise.. sorry.. no luck1

  4. Unless your a Muslim or an engineer working there, then forget it seriously... the amount of red tape and waiting periods are ridiculous to justify a simple two week holiday..

You need be either a Muslim making the Hajj (pilgrimage) or a foreign worker at an oil compound to get any kind of visa in Saudia Arabia.

It's NOT open for general tourism.

  5. You cant visit or in another word you are not allowed to go there unless u r working there or going to see the holy lands other wise just go to Egypt.

  6. why waste your time and money on Saudia?

It has nothing to offer and they won't treat you rightly. If it is an Arab country you wish to visit...my suggestions are:

    UAE

    Syria

Lots to do there, good food, and lots of things to buy.
