What are the restrictions?

I'm going to Canada next wednesday but I have a few illegal applications on my laptop, how far do they check when you're at the airport?

They actually make a copy of your harddrive when it goes through TSA.. i don't know how they do it but i read it under their fine print... if they find something illegal or fishy, they'll hold it and contact you.

If it is fine, they just terminate the copy.

I really do not think that they check the content of your hard drive.  They check your computer physically, but not the content.
