Well i'm dating this guy and his parents were 44 and 58 mom younger than dad and now he wants kids and he's 30 years old but wants to wait for a couple more years before he has his first so my question is what would be the risk of having a baby at and older age being as though you yourself was a real late in life child???? I would'nt mind giving him a child but i'm scared of the complications that could be for our baby.! So can some one please tell me something i don't and need to know.

  1. I am trying now and am 28, my husband is 37. I think that is still young. I think your parents were old, but that's just me. I want to be old enough (as I am) to still be a young parent, and not so old I am 50 when my child is just 10. I want to enjoy my later years too! Not just take care of teenagers in my 60's! Plus, if you have them by 30/35 you will still have your parents around, you want your kids to have grandparents, don't you? Too much later will be just the two of you...

  2. The risks increase at 35 and significantly at 40. It is a greater risk if the female that is going to conceive is older. I am 33 and so is my Hubbie and we are expecting baby #2 and both will have been born after we were 30. So it has worked out okay for us. I hope it does for your friend. Become a parent is the greatest gift ever!

  3. It matters more how old you are when you have the baby, but in this day and age, even that isn't that big of a deal.  The fact that his folks were older when he was born doesn't make a difference, as long as he's generally healthy.  Women are having kids into their 40's these days - of course there are more risks the older you get, but there are always risks with pregnancies.  Good luck!

  4. im not like positiv eon this but i do remmeber my mom saying that you know older women who have kids u know..older lol have a more risk of their kids becoming mentally changelled and its a huge risk for your health.so what i heard! :]

  5. My mom was 30 and my dad was 40 when they had me, I'm the oldest of 3 kids and we're fine.

  6. my mom was 27 when she had me and 42 when she had my sister... just stay healthy and activce and try to find ways to destress so when you are pregnat youll be healthy and with practiced stress reducing techniques the baby wont have any stress, which is very important. in my yoga class theres women that did yoga through out there whole pregnancy ( some sambas they couldnt do but they still enjoyed it)
