A couple days ago I had taken a large amount of robotussin.

I woke up the next morning with aching back wich I assume to be my kidneys. so i believe I have a kidney infection im not tottaly positive.

What are the risks of leaving a infection to the kidneys untreated?

can it go away all on its own?

  1. Well if it hurts like h**l, that means both kidneys are going to brake down and if u dont' have at lease 1 kidney, you will die and your urine won't be filtered.

if it doesn't hurt that much, im guessing only one of your kidney's are failing but you can survive 100% if u have 1 kidney, just go to the doctors and get a quick check up

  2. you probably have not actually got a kidney infection .... more than likely by overdosing on the robotussin you have stressed your kidneys into over working .... try drinking water - sipping through the day, to give your kidneys a rest .... and don't overdose on robotussin again!.....if however this condition persists then you may need to see a doctor ..... just for info an untreated kidney infection can cause othe problems like urinary infection .... untreated, in the long term, you can cause your kidneys to fail - lethal.....
