What are the roles of most police officer assistants?

Question

If you are a police officer assistant, or if you know someone who is, what are the roles they carry out? I know one of the responsibilities is writing citations, what kind of citations though?

What do the sgts want to know about you during the interview?

etc, I just need more information from someone who has been there and done that.

I have also never heard of an assistant.  Do mean Community Service Officers?  A CSO wears a simliar uniform, drives a marked patrol vehicle (some are identical to squads) and helps out when asked.  They answer animal complaints, direct traffic, transport arrests, etc.    That's the closest thing that I can think of.

I'm with DN4CER, I've never heard of police officer assistants.  Too bad I'd really like someone to write my reports for me.  No, wait better yet they can clean out the back seat after the drunk relieves himself and throws up.

IN my 32 years in criminal justice and law enforcement, I've never heard of a 'police officer assistant'....

What do you mean about "assistants"?  Police officers do not have assistants.  They are the ones that write the tickets, go to the radio calls, arrest the suspects, etc.

If you know someone who has "been there and done that", then ask that person!  Like I mentioned before, officers do not have assistants!
