What are the rules for hand luggage?

I heard there are laws / rules for hand luggage . What should I take?

nothing sharp and i think its not ment to be anything more than 8 kg (i think) oh and dont have hairspray or mouse or perfume in your bag! they will take it from you!

i travel alot in and out of the country

and so here are the basics for hand luggage

1. no makeup (chap sticks okay)

2. no weapons.. obvious

3. no food or water (you can pick it up on the other side of the airport)

4. the bag should be a decent size if its small enough u can put it under the seat in front of you.but if its big u put it in the overhead locker

If you're asking about how many things you can bring on, most airlines allow one carry on bag plus one personal item (purse, laptop bag, etc.).  Check with your airline for those specifics.
