  1. There are size restrictions:

It can be no more than 3 ounces for a liquid.  It has to be in a clear bottle and it has to be in a clear plastic bag if you put it in your carry-on.

Also, make sure you have a drivers license as well as a passport.

I would strongly recommend putting all your lotions and creams and liquids down in your checked luggage and not your carry on.  It will make it allot quicker going through Security and you don't have to worry about having too much of one item where they take it out and throw it away.

You don't have a certain amount of ounces for those items if they are in your luggage down below.

Also check the website for the airline you are traveling.  It will give you all the information.

  2. Usually you are allowed 2 checked bags for each flyer. The pounds per bag vary with each airline carrier but usually it's 50 lbs per bag. You will be charged for over the weight limit. Check with your airlines for the over weight charges

Pack any amounts lotions, hair products and sun tan lotions in CHECKED luggage.

Restrictions of liquids apply to carry ons. Each person is allowed a quart size zip lock bag for your liquids. Only 3 oz of liquid in a 3 oz container is allowed.

    Good Luck

  3. The 3 ounce restriction is for carry-on, not for checked luggage. The biggest restrictions on checked luggage are on weight and alcohol.

On alcohol, I think you're allowed a single bottle (fifth/litre) of your favorite spirit.

On weight, it used to be that 50 lbs per bag was the universal accepted weight limit for checked luggage, but now each airline has it's own limits - some are even different for different destinations. As an example, the last time I checked, Spirit was still 50 pounds per bag, but Funjet was 50 pounds total (for all checked luggage together). And they WILL weigh them.

But now on Spirit, you actually have to make RESERVATIONS for your bags or they won't fly. And you'll have to pay seperately for those reservations ($5 or $10 per bag for the first 2, $50 or $100 each for any additional), so that's another strange wrinkle that's appeared lately.

The things you asked about (lotions, hair products, etc) - you can have as much as you want with you (in your CHECKED luggage) as long as you don't exceed that airline's weight limit. (If you don't have a scale you trust and you think you might be heavy, take an extra gym bag or something you can take as carry on to unload some of the weight into, in case they tell you your bag is overweight.)
