I have a court date on monday for a speeding ticket that i want to dispute. The cop told me that i needed to change my license as soon as possible. The only thing is is that my dad owns the car....do i just need to change my license or the insurance and registration? I think that he said insurance but if my dad owns the car then how does that work? i just want to get this straightened out before I go to court. I havnt had time to go to the motor department because I have been working so much. Any answers would be really appreciated! THanks a bunch

  1. You just need to get a license in the state of MA. MA law requires you obtain a license in the state if you live here.

  2. Officially you are borrowing the car.  So leave the registration alone.

    Just transfer the driver's license.

if you are there for school, it is legal for you to keep NYS license.

    good Luck...
