My close friends has been taking care of ill cats. One gets a shot every 4 weeks. It is all costly, so I was wondering if I can put up a can with the cats pictures and try to help raise a little to pay for their vet bills.

  1. go to the local stores and ask them permission if you can put the cans in their stores- ask the stores if they can donate cat food- ask the vet if he can lower his bill or even give the necessary vet work free

  2. communicate with the PEOPLE FOR ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS.

they will be a big help. send them pictures and reports. this is their site: www.peta.com

they can provide you on what you need.

  3. It is very difficult and in some towns illegal for an individual to solicit donations for private use.  You would be better off looking for an established group to assist you.  Check with a local Boy Scout or Girl Scout Troop they may be willing to take the responsibility of raising funds for the cats care.  They could use it for their Community Service Badge.  Otherwise try a High School Guidance counselor.  Students could fulfill their community service requirement by helping out.
