  2. NFSHSA rules govern US junior high schools.  Here are some of the basics.

3 hits on a side with the block not counting as a hit.

Games are rally scoring (point on every play except playovers) to 25 points.  Deciding games (3rd game in 2 out of 3 or 5th game in 3 out of 5) will be to 15 points.

The Libero is a defensive specialist that does not count as a substitution.  They may go in for any back row player.  They wear a different colored shirt from the rest of the team.  This year, they may serve in one position.

Players may touch the opponents court with their hands or feet as long as part of their hands or feet are on or above the court.  Players may not touch the opponents court with any other body part.

Players may not touch the net, with the exception of the hair.

Players may switch positions on the court after the serve has been contacted.  They may move front or back, but there are restrictions on what the back row players may do while in the front row.  No attacking (while in the front zone) or blocking for the back row players.

I have covered only a very few of the basics.  There are PAGES of rules.  If you have a specific question, please feel free to contact me.
