Question:

What are the rules of separation?

I recently asked my husband for a break. We are going to continue to live in the same house for atleast this week and then I am going to my sisters for the weekend. As for next week, I am not entirely sure what will happen. We have 2 children that I would prefer to not uproot while I try to clear my head. Do you think that;

A.) the break will still prove effect if in fact we are living together during the week?

B.) is it ok for us to go out with friends to party and such during our break?

Just wanted an outside opinion...thanks!

  1. There are no "rules" other than conditions the two of you set.  A separation is sort of a trial divorce.  But if you are not in the position you would be in if you went through with the divorce - i.e., (probably) living in the house with the children, trying to support yourself and the kids on whatever money the divorce settlement would be, then you are not likely to get much out of the "separation" in terms of deciding whether to go through with the divorce.

  2. A

  3. If that is the deal you made I guess but realistically your not on a break if you guys still live together.

  4. Afterward you need to know the rules, become aware of what you are suppose to do....
