What are the rules on making recommendations on travel forum?

Today I received a violation notice for multiple answers I have posted in the travel section over the last several weeks. The reason given is "soliciation". Ok, if that is the case, then anyone and everyone who posts a link or makes any recommendations on any forum should be reported. If the "troll" who has an issue with me always replying with the same "travel site" then should I lie and recommend some travel site I don't like just to make the rule makers happy. I want to know also how it can be "solicitation" if the person on the questions area is asking the question and seeking advise? This is like a person calling me up to buy something and then when I recommend the product they accuse me of solicitation. Any mature suggestions would be helpful.

  1. Based on what you say, IGNORE the violation notice!

You reply on your experiences and your choice of places to visit, things to do, etc.........that is the best that you can do!!

That is what I do !!

Hopefully you do not work for the travel site that you always recommend.....at that point, I could expect some people to complain that you are simply soliciting business for your own profit.....that would be objectionable.
