  1. ok so it depends on what system the shotokan people follow. ive attended a bunch of the ones in illinois which have huge shotokan tournaments and they follow the usa nkf rules, which im guessing these people will too.

theres a BUNCH of rules for this so ill try to summarize it for you. its a point system, generally the first to 8 points. heres how you get points

1 point: punch to the head (no contact), punch to the body

2 points: kick to the body, a combination of 2 punches that would both score, punch to the back, off balancing the opponent and then landing a technique

3 points: kick to the head, taking the opponent COMPLETELY down and then following with a technique

penalties: theres a bunch, you cant use the wrist locks and things like that, you can push the person around some but you have to be trying to do a karate technique with it. you can do take downs but you cant throw the person over your hip or sholder and you have to support them going down. you cant use your knees, elbows, or head for attacks

no contact to the face or any where below the belt, no open hand techniques can be thrown to the face

you cant go out of bounds, talk in the ring, taunt the opponent, and you have to control your techniques (no spinning moves)

and for some of your other things, you can block however you want, no penalties for that. but your not allowed to do any sorts of locks.

hope thats what you were looking for

  2. Hi...

Any answer we give here would be a guess.
