  1. I don't know what you are looking for in a boat...all the boats you have listed are good boats...the FJ (flying junior)is an older design that has a strong following, they were well built and had few problems...the Laser is quite different in that it is really a single person boat...two can go for a fun outting...the Laser is a boat that you can learn to sail in and continue to the toughest racing...a great boat...Laser 2..is a two man crew again with a good following...dito for the 420...one of the most important things to consider in buying a boat is wether or not there are others of the same class in your area'I'd stick with the strongest class in your area..the other thing is that the 3 two man boats you have picked are all for lighter crews and are not great for two good sized men

  2. I am not sure what you are asking, but I will wing it.

If you are asking about sail material/cost, then you need to just get some prices from some sail makers.  I do know that if you are going to race a Laser, you must use Laser sails in order to be class legal.

Before you buy any boat, check the condition of the sails !!

I have a Windmill and race against the types of boat you have listed.  I had a Laser many years ago and it was a fun little boat.  As my skills increased, I felt the need to move up to a faster and more challenging boat.
