  1. Wow! What a thought provoking question.  Also a very difficult one to answer.  The role of agriculture is to grow food, fiber, building materials for the world in general as well as to provide a decent living for the farmer and his family.  As well as the responsibility for turning over the land to the next generation in a better condition than we received it. Agriculture encompasses Agronomy  (the culture of field crops and the science and care of the soil that they grow in), Horticulture (the culture of vegetables, fruit and flowers), Aquaculture  (cultivation of fish, shellfish, and other aquatic organisms) ,Silviculture (the agriculture of trees),  and Animal husbandry (the raising and care of animals).  While the role of agriculture is fairly easy to define, the scope of agriculture would extend far beyond this.  While not directly involved in agriculture, the people who sell farm machinery are dependent on agriculture,  the same goes to the steel workers who make the steel for the machinery, and the miners who mine the coal used to make the steel.  The same can be said about the millers of the grain, the manufacture of processed foods, the grocer who sells the food.  The list goes on and on, so it becomes a problem of where to draw the line on the scope of agriculture.  Just the fact that we all need to eat agriculture touches all our lives.

  2. too find any or all postive aspects of planting things we later use

  3. You said "Scope"; it is beyond your imaginations; if you think; it is the agriculture that feeds the world and keep it alive and moving. It does not discriminate between king and poor, good and bad, it treats every one alike. every one needs food to live. Agriculture is most Holy thing that can happen to man and the beasts (that help in agriculture) cows, bulls, goats, sheep etc those turn otherwise waste fodder in to manure, milk, meat and fiber.

If you think in terms of returns (money wise), it can if one uses his brains and does farming according to needs of the people. You have to be a good sales man.
