  1. No governments are addressing global warming.

What they are doing is increasing tax and telling people it's for their own good.  If we were to enter another ice age, the carbon taxes would remain.

  2. Switzerland has always looked after the enviorment to some extent.  They have had high quality recycling for years, unlike the UK who is only starting in some areas. They give you money back if you buy a hybrid car, and other enviormental improvements.  The Swiss supermarkets have just released a new reusable bag the costs around 1 pound.  These suppermarkets have never used plastic bags like the UK does, before this new bag it only offerd paper bags about 3 times the size of the small bags in the UK and the consumer had to pay around 15 pence a bag (still in use).

Goverments around the world are starting to introduce recycling and other procations but, the goverment doesnt seem to care really, they care more about the ecconomy than the enviorment but if the enviorment fails their wont be a economy so their priorities are wrong.

I have apppealed to Greenpeace for support to organize a meeting between the major UK supermarkets to have a look into the plastic bag problem. hope for a response soon saying they want to be part of it and help me set it up.

  3. Europe has high levels of tax on gasoline to reduce consumption, strict emissions regulations and low fuel consumption cars. Most countries offer grants for people to install renewable energy systems in their homes and all countries have massive building programs in place to increase the contribution that renewables make to electricity generation. There are targets for reducing landfill and increase recycling. There are new regulations for Building Energy Requirements to ensure less carbon output in their construction and in their operating costs. Standard lightbulbs are being outlawed in many countries and CFL's will be subsidised. All whitegoods have energy ratings and most people go for the most energy efficient. That's just a quick overview of some of the things being done to slow Global Warming by Europeans.

  4. 1)1st step is carbon trading.ie all countries are given an emission unit. They have to limit their emission from various sources in this range. If they will exceed that unit they will be imposed a fine.Which will be shared by countries who have emission unit below their limit.

2)conservation of forest and planting trees on road sides.

3)Research on ecofriendly sources of energy and its implimentation in day-to-day life like solar heater, photovoltaic cell etc.

4)Ban of freezes in some area which are consuming more CFC gasses and more energy.

  5. Australia is supposedly buying into the emissions trading scheme...I'm not entirely sure on the specifics, but apparently big business's/factories need to buy or trade permits to emit pollutants into the atmosphere. Only time will tell if this actually works, I have to admit I'm a little sceptical.

We just had a huge meeting of the minds a couple of days ago about environmental issues. From all that talking they seemed to achieve....well...not sure exactly. But I do know that they arent pushing to make Australia plastic bag free, and the Murray Darling sytem is in deep doo doo!

  6. Both of them are right.

  7. WELL THE STEPS TAKEN INCLUDE BUILDING BIGGER ROADS MAKE MORE CARS LORRIES AND BIGGER JUMBO JETS OCEAN LINERS AND FASTER MORE EXPENSIVE TRAINS SKY SCRAPERS BULLDOZERS TO CHURN UP ALL THE GREEN - BELT LAND AND FORRESTS AND BUILD NUCLEAR POWER STATIONS AND  SUBMARINES AND WAR SHIPS SPACE SHIPS ROCKETS SATTLITES COMPUTERS TVS AND AFFORDABLE AND UN AFFORDABLE HOUSING ON THE OLD PARKLANDS  OR GREEN BELT THAT YOU GREW UP ON OH AND THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED IS THAT THEY MADE OIL TOO EXPENSIVE TO BUY SO YOU CANT AFFORD TO DRIVE AS FAR AS YOU USED TO AND EVEN IF YOU DID YOU WOULDNT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY LEFT TO BUY COFFEE OR RICE
