What are the shorts that you wear while playing volleyball called? what do they feel like?

It's Spandex. The most popular is probably Mizuno, Addidas, or Under Armor. It's actually really comfortable. If you worry too much about how your legs look in it, it wont be comfortable and you'll keep pulling it down.

They are spandex shorts. Most brands that school teams use are either Nike or Mizuno. I prefer Mizuno. Although sometimes they are uncomfortable. But after you get used to them you'll be fine.

I've always just called them volleyball shorts (which differentiates between other kinds of spandex shorts, like the ones bikers wear), but I've heard them called spankies before, too.

If you've ever worn stockings, nylons, or spandex leggings, the fit is pretty similar except that the shorts obviously only cover a couple of inches  of your inseam instead of your entire leg.  I personally find them really comfortable.  Even though I don't play formal team volleyball anymore, I still like the shorts and wear them to the gym, when I go jogging or biking (in warmer weather--gotta use the full-length spandex this time of year), or just for lounging around.

Volleyball shorts generally come in inseam lengths (the length from your crotch to the end of the short's leg) ranging from about 2-5 inches.  They also come with low-rise or more traditional style waists.  Finding the size and cut that makes you most comfortable goes a long way in determining your comfort level.  Some girls also like to pull the shorts up as high as they can and then roll down the waist which will make their butts stand out more.  It is really all a matter of preference.

What you wear under the shorts makes a big difference on how they feel, too.  Normal panties are almost guaranteed to give you a visible panty line and I always found that my panties would move around and bunch up under the shorts.  I switched to thongs for a while, but ultimately decided that I am most comfortable with nothing on under the shorts (roughly half of my college team did the same).  If you decide to go commando, make sure your shorts have a gusset--a piece of softer material in the crotch.  This will help absorb moisture and prevent your private area from getting rubbed raw by the rough spandex.

they r called Spandex Shorts, not spandex, spandex shorts.  their nickname from most players tho is "spankies". They feel like... after a while they just feel like ur skin but a  bit tighter ha ha.

They are called spandex shorts. Personally, They feel kind of uncomfortable when you first put them on, but then you get used to them. Usually, it depends on what brand you get and what kind of the shorts you get. Adidas is  a very good brand, with very comfortable shorts. Mizuno is also a good brand, but have a different fit than adidas(I personally think that Mizuno is a more comfortable brand, but that's just me). If you are looking to buy some, I would say that you should try on as many different kinds of shorts as you can, to see which kind you like the best. I hope this helped you.

They are called spandex, and I have never heard anyone one any of the teams i play for call them "spankies"

In terms of what they feel like....they are really annoying.  But once you've played for a while you get used to it.

Spandex. Nobody calls them spankies. Seriously. They are very comfy & they usually range from extremely short to halfway between the waist  knee. If you have the right size they shouldnt' ride up or anything uncomfortable like that. The best brand I wpuld say personally is Mizuno that are low rise. After a while you barely realize you're wearing anything. Most girls feel self-concious at first but after a while they are a normal thing because everybody wears them!

they're called SPANDEX!!!...and there really not that uncomfortable.....there alot like underarmor materical.....there acctually really a good kind of short to wear while playing volleyball...they stay tight to your skin and are pretty comfortable while out on the court!

hate to burst some people's bubbles here, but the only things that are "spankies" are the briefs that cheerleaders wear underneath their skirt so nobody gets a peek at the goods when they jump or stunt.( i know, i was a competitive cheerleader when i was little).

the volleyball players wear spandex(shorts) but they are just refered to as spandex. or some people call them skins(because they are basically like a second skin,& skintight). They are comfy once you get used to them, but you can get wedgies or butt sweat.lol
