What are the side effects of taking B12 shots?

My doctor has recommended that I take B12 shots twice a month. Can any tell me what side effect will be and if I will notice any changes in my daily life?

    With parenteral administration:

    Cardiovascular

    Pulmonary edema; CHF; peripheral vascular thrombosis.

    Dermatologic

    Itching; transitory exanthema; urticaria.

    EENT

    Severe and rapid optic nerve atrophy.

    GI

    Mild transient diarrhea.

    Miscellaneous

    Hypersensitivity; pain at injection site; sensation of body swelling; hypokalemia; polycythemia vera; asthenia, headache, infection, glossitis, nausea, paresthesia, rhinitis (intranasal).


  2. My doctor recommended it for me for fatigue and weight loss as well. I get them from a local nurse practioner who is a proponent of the shots. I hated them but I lost thirty pounds and stopped taking them. They were literally a pain in my ***. It got better once I started bringing my ice bag to the nurse's office.
