  1. You should be in a relaxed state but you need a dr. supervision

  2. Are you talking recreational usage or as prescribed by a physician?  I am actually taking this very medication and dose at the moment for Chronic Pain and I am just curious, did you not receive literature with your script listing common side affects etc.?  If you Google Methadone, you will find plenty of side affect listings.

For myself, as with any narcotic constipation is a biggie!  Make sure you are drinking plenty of water.  Have you taken opioids in the past?  If not, expect to feel it in your head first.  It may cause a foggy/fuzzy feeling for the first few days, kind of like everything is a little further away than normal.  Also, since it has sedating qualities, it may make you drowsy..please do not drive until your body gets used to the side affects!  You may notice your breathing slow slightly, remember to only take the dose you have been prescribed as taking too much will literally stop your heart!  Also, Methadone is in a class of it's own as it has a long 'half-life'.  That means, it can stay in your body a long time and if you take your doses closer together then prescribed, it can build up in your body.  This means that while you maybe feeling alright, your body is becoming saturated without you knowing and it can cause your heart to stop!

Hopefully I have not frightened you from taking it!  I have been  on it at different strengths for 1 year now and my doc and I are still trying to get the amounts and number of doses a day figured out.  Do not get discouraged if there is no relief at first, it is not 'magic' and may take some time to get it right!

Best of luck, I hope it brings you relief!
