  1. yes

  2. the price will scare off the meat buyers if that is what you are thinking

a good buyer will ask YOU lots of questions.. like when was last vet check etc.. they might even ask for a vet check..

YOU are fully entitled to ask them questions and say NO if you dont want to .

  3. If you really care about where this horse is going you can ask buyers for references for example from a veterinarian or stable owner etc. You can ask to see the facility where the horse will be kept.

If you are not comfortable selling to these people then don't. Period. It's your horse and as long as no $ changes hands you can change your mind at any time.

A good buyer will show up on time to an appointment to see the horse. They will have a well kept appearance, truck and trailer. They may request a vet check before purchase.

  4. If they come in and don't really look at the horse.  Have them ride him and really try him out before they put any money down on him.  You want to make sure they will fit with the horse.  Judge their knowledge of horses.  If something smells fishy, it probably is not good.  Just trust your judgement.

    Good luck!
