  1. Any of these signs could indicate that your baby is dehydrated or is becoming dehydrated:

    • More than six hours without a wet diaper

    • Urine that looks darker in his diaper and smells stronger than usual

    • Lethargy

    • A dry, parched mouth and lips

    • No tears while crying

Signs that your baby may be seriously dehydrated: • Sunken eyes

    • Hands and feet that feel cold and look splotchy

    • Excessive sleepiness or fussiness

    • Sunken fontanels (the soft spots on your baby's head)

  2. Sleeping all the time...also spasms...like they go jerky and a bit stiff...sunken soft spot.

  3. Have a look on web md.

Limp, pale, clammy, soft spot on head (frontal) sucked in or hard and swollen all depends what age baby!!!

  4. The signs and symptoms that reflect the amount of fluid lost:

In the early stages of dehydration, there are no signs or symptoms.

Early features are difficult to detect but include dryness of mouth and thirst.

As dehydration increases, signs and symptoms develop. These include: thirst, restless or irritable behavior, decreased skin turgor, dry mucous membranes, sunken eyes,

in infants where their soft spot is it will sink in, and absence of tears when crying vigorously, and either dark strong smelling urine, or none at all.

Symptoms of early or mild dehydration include:

    A flushed face

extreme thirst, more than normal or unable to drink.

    dry, warm skin

cannot pass urine or reduced amounts, dark, yellow. Urine should be clear to very light yellow..if its not,DRINK more water.

dizziness made worse when you are standing

    weakness

    constipation

cramping in the arms and legs

crying with few or no tears especially in infants.

    sleepy or irritable and unwell

    headaches

dry mouth, dry tongue; with thick saliva.

In severe dehydration, these effects become more pronounced and the patient may develop evidence of hypovolaemic shock, including: diminished consciousness, lack of urine output, cool moist extremities, a rapid and feeble pulse (the radial pulse may be undetectable), low or undetectable blood pressure, and peripheral cyanosis. Death follows soon if re-hydration is not started quickly.

Symptoms of moderate to severe dehydration include:

    low blood pressure

    fainting

severe muscle contractions in the arms, legs, stomach, and back

    convulsions

    a bloated stomach

    heart failure

sunken fontanelle - soft spot on a infants head will sink in.

sunken dry eyes, with few or no tears

skin loses its firmness and looks wrinkled

lack of elasticity of the skin (when a bit of skin lifted up stays folded and takes a long time to go back to its normal position)

rapid and deep breathing - faster than normal

    fast, weak pulse

    Hope this helps you.

  5. How old? Sometimes it can be lethargy, the soft spot might be sunken, lack of urine..

  6. The soft spot is a big one- if sunken in it usually means dehydration. If the diapers are getting dryer or are completely dry for long periods of time, sunken eyes, lack of tears when crying, tired and fussy are all signs

  7. *Lethargy--sleeping alot, not waking for feedings, hard or impossible to wake

*Also the soft spot on his/her head will be sunken in and you will be able to it pulsating.

    *Sunken eyes.

*Not alot of wet diapers or no wet diapers at all.
