What are the signs of pregnancy in budgies?

Birds don't get pregnant, but signs they are ready to lay eggs include a lot of nesting activity and obviously mating.  If you provide a nest box the birds will go in and out of the box getting it ready to start laying eggs.  They may either throw nesting material out of the box if you've provided it, rearrange it or add some of their own.

When they are close to laying they will spend more time in the nest box with the hen usually spending more time than the c**k.

They may also start eating and bathing more but this depends on the breed and the environment.

Budgies don't actual have a pregnancy, but signs of egg laying are the hen spending time in the nest box, moving any sawdust. And i have noticed in my pairs that the hen gets fatter around her bum area when the eggs are developing.
