What are the signs that a boat has been used in salt water?

I'm thinking of buying a used jet boat but I want to know if there are signs that it has been used in salt water instead of fresh water. Are there telltale signs that would indicate such use9i.e. a certain type of corrosion or corrosion in certain places?)

Usually rust on the bottom of the boat and the propeller.

You need to check metals for corrosion. Iron rusting and possible other  corrosion  types of corrosion on other types of metals. If it had been flushed with fresh water after use, there should not be a problem.

Saltwater damage can lead to mold, corrosion and rust because the salt will hold the moisture in mold can start forming and grow fast. Aslo rust happens on the bottom of the jet boat because there is nothing there to prevent it
