What are the similarites between the culture of India and America??

They both love cows.  

Indians worship them and Americans eat them.

- both have great faith in the power of technology to change the world, and solve general problems

-India is an emerging 'liberal superpower.' (Daniel Lak, 'India Express.')

-you COULD argue both have a kind of 'class society', and it's very hard to move from one class to another.  (Americans don't like to admit it, but there is much intergenerational poverty, and many of the wealthy families today came over on the Mayflower -compare this to India's brahmins and untouchables)

-religion plays a big part in both countries

-both see the military as a source of prestige for them.  (SUch was expressed when India got the atomic bomb - Daniel Lak, again.

-both place a great faith in education, and it's very hard to get into the better universities/colleges
