What are the similarities between the first hominids and the homo sapiens sapiens?

I just started a new class (world history) and i have read the chapter and the notes and i still do not understand the similarities between the two in order to fill out the similarities part of my venn graph. i have already researched on the differences and found that some of you can find the best possible answers and could really use the help. BTW i am 29 and going back to school for my High School Diploma , so this info is for myself for my study guide thanks.

    -walk upright

    -live in groups and societies

    -could control fire (Homo erectus and after)

    -sexual dimorphism (difference in sizes of males and females)

    -slightly polygamous males

    -omnivorous
