What are the similarities of land weeds and aquatic weeds?

To escape into the wild, weeds tend to have certain characteristics regardless of their habitat. Eg, they are fast growing, produce many seeds and easily reproduce vegetatively. These traits are what make most weeds successful and such a nightmare to clean up. I've listed a source with more of these characteristics. When you think of the worst aquatic weeds they fit pretty easily into these. (eg duckweed)
