  1. The only two I can think of is the Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR) and Winchester Model 1897 combat shotgun saw use in both......In every other way the wars were light years apart.....Every human being could use some psychological care. We all have our baggage. Most 'Nam vets came home and have lived pretty normal lives and are proud of it.....


  2. Similar in effects on veterans - In both wars, more died of disease than actual combat.

    Also, many veterans became insane.  (The phrase 'screaming meamies' originated during wwI, as description of how vets felt from sudden and constant noise.)  About 1/3 of Vietnam veterans needed pyschological care.
