  1. To lead the Dmat, or dematerialization vertical, you will need to know the function thoroughly. The basic you will need is to pass the NCFM DP module. You must be familiar with the process of dematerialization, transfer of ownership by off-market or market transactions, add-on activities like freezing accounts and pledge, etc.

To perform these functions, you will need various skills. First, settlement process in stock exchange is very critical and it has to be performed strictly within specific time. So, you must be a fast decision maker.

Second, you will get many type of customers. As the head, I don't think you will have to face them directly; but some special cases might be referred to you. You will need to have convincing ability, or the communication skills, for those situations.

And the third, demat activity is very routine. You should not get bored with the routine. I am sure you will have a lot of challenge in this vertical also. But that will be in terms of scale, not in terms of scope. (I mean, you will have 1,000 demat accounts in the beginning. At the end of a year, you might have 10,000. But your area of operation remains the same. You are not doing any new thing out of you specific task-list.) So, you will have to be self-motivated if you want to stay there for long period.

    All the best.
